Darkslide
Mobile Application
Darkslide is a mobile application designed specifically for skateboarders who are always on the lookout for the latest and most exciting skate spots. The primary objective of this project was to create a sleek, user-friendly, and cohesive design that would not only appeal to the skateboarding community but also provide a seamless experience across both mobile and tablet platforms. Darkslide offers a map interface that highlights secret or hidden skate spots through green dots, each representing a location that another skater has discovered and tagged.
The concept behind Darkslide is to foster a sense of community among skaters by allowing users to explore, tag, and record skate spots, creating a shared network of hidden gems. Each dot on the map is an invitation to fellow skaters to experience something new, keeping the app dynamic and ever-evolving. Whether it's a hidden half-pipe behind an industrial park or a perfect set of stairs tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, Darkslide empowers users to share their discoveries and contribute to the broader skateboarding culture.
One of the app's key features is the Spot Hub, a central space where users can upload videos and clips of their sessions at various spots. This fosters a collaborative environment where skaters can not only find new locations but also showcase their skills and engage with other skaters. The video attached to the project demonstrates one of the core user flows—how a skater can take a video at a location and effortlessly upload it to the Spot Hub, contributing to the ever-growing collection of user-generated content. By blending functionality with a clean, modern design, Darkslide enhances the skateboarding experience, giving skaters a tool to explore, document, and share their passion with the wider community.
