In this role, I served as a designer responsible for creating custom uniforms and logos, while managing the operation of five printers. I also designed web advertisements to elevate brand visibility and developed new products to meet customer demands. This position allowed me to blend creative design with technical precision, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality results. I was proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Wasatch, and Versaworks, and expertly operated a range of printers, including Roland vinyl printers and Epson models F9470, F9470H, F9370, and F9200.

Presentations

Our process typically began with presentations. In this role, we received design requests from customers, each specifying their preferred styles, colors, and the sport they played. Our primary focus was on creating designs for soccer, baseball, and basketball teams.

To the right is an example of a standard presentation we prepared for clients, specifically for South Hill Little League, Seattle Christian Soccer and DFHN Basketball.

For South Hill, they requested 14 distinct jersey designs, all featuring their logo in varying color schemes. This was part of our ‘Play Like a Pro’ program, which allows teams to model their designs and colors—professional team colors, in this case—while adopting the names of those teams. Along with the jerseys, we offered the option to purchase replica hats sourced from one of our distributors.

In contrast, Seattle Christian approached us without a specific concept, asking us to surprise them with designs. Their only stipulation was that the away jerseys had to be completely white, with no added design elements.

Logo Design

Occasionally, teams would also request new logo designs rather than uniforms. In this instance, the team requested logos centered around Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We provided several logo options, along with T-shirts to be sold to their boosters and parents. Although logo design typically takes longer than uniform design, I was able to deliver four different options within three hours. By the end of the day, the team selected their preferred logos to feature on merchandise.

Layout and Printing

In addition to logo and uniform design, I was also responsible for the layout and printing process. Once the designs were finalized and orders placed, I oversaw the preparation of files for print, ensuring each one met the required size and dimensions. We utilized Epson printers with dye-sublimation technology to produce high-quality results.

In Adobe Illustrator, I laid out the designs and closely monitored the printing process to ensure precision. To lay out and print the files we used a series of Epson printers and the program Wasatch shown to the left.
